Africa 2024
Over the years I have been lucky enough to travel across the world, and capture different cultures and landscapes. In July 2024, I and a group of others had the opportunity to travel to Zambia for 3 weeks. We spend those weeks in many different locations, from Lusaka to a Rural village on the edge of Lake Kariba. I took my Sony A6300 and two lenses 24-70mm f4 and 16mm f2.8 Prime to aid me in my photography. Here are some of the images I managed to capture!

Behind the Shot
This was taken in July along the Zambezi River in Zambia during a trip that completely opened my eyes to life in this part of the world. I spotted this boy washing his school bag, getting ready for the next day. His school is in the next village, which means he has a decent walk to get there, but he didn’t seem to mind. I asked if I could take his picture, and he gave me this amazing, genuine smile. The warm afternoon light and earthy tones of the surroundings made the moment feel so grounded, and his red clothes stood out beautifully against the backdrop.
For me, this shot is more than just a portrait. It’s a reminder of how much we often take for granted. Seeing his dedication to something as simple but important as preparing for school really stuck with me. Moments like this are why I love photography—it’s about telling these stories and capturing glimpses of everyday life that might otherwise go unnoticed.

This is the home of the village elder, taken in a remote community along the Zambezi River in Zambia. The elder is central to life here, offering guidance and leadership to everyone in the village. The house is surrounded by lush mango trees, which provide shade and in their Summer (December) lush mangos to feed the village and sell to nearby villages and fishermen.
The village itself is incredibly remote, with no immediate access to modern conveniences, but life here feels connected to the land and tradition. I wanted to capture the simplicity and importance of this home, which stands as a focal point for the entire community.
